Military Service Notes

  • United States Army, World War II and Korean War. United States Army Reserve, Lieutenant Colonel. "He served as mayor of Lindale for four years and when the Nation needed his services in Its military force during war time he was quick to turn his energies in this direction. A veteran of World War II and the Korean War, he served eleven years in the Army Signal Corps, four years of which were in the European theater. He became a Signal Corps procurement officer when he returned to inactive duty. He had been recently promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel in the Army Reserve." 57th Legislature, 3rd C.S., HSR 165. Resolutions - Memorial.
