Benjamin Franklin Vaughan, father of Mrs. Harvie Branscomb, wife of Vanderbilt University chancellor; born in Delta County, Texas, married the former Miss Amelia Upthegrove in 1895; death date Sunday, 11/17/1957; funeral services to be held in Greenville, Texas. Vaughn "served several terms in the Texas state legislature, was many times a delegate to the Democratic National Convention and had served on many politically important committees in Texas." Survivors also include son Benjamin F. Vaughan, Jr. Newspapers.com.
