Military Service Notes

  • Confederate States Army, enlisted May 1863 in an independent company under Watt Phelan, then transferred in August 1864 to Company D, 7th Alabama Cavalry, under Ike Wharton, and served in that company until the close of the war, according to soldier's application and oath. Henry Percy Taylor not found on the muster rolls forom August 31, 1863 to May 20, 1864, per War Department memo; includes correspondence and affidavits. Henry Percy Taylor of May, Brown County, Texas, birthplace Walker County, Alabama, death date 3/18/1931 in May, Brown County. Pension File No. 46772, Alabama, Texas and Virginia, U.S., Confederate Pensions, 1884-1958. Ancestry.com.
