Senate members appointed 11/6/1855; McCulloch listed as Chairman on the part of the Senate in committee report 1/20/1856: "Your committees, appointed on the part of the Senate and House of Representatives, for the purposes of examining the situation of the Treasury Department, have acted jointly in the discharge of that duty . . ."
