Appointed 3/21/1873, pursuant to resolution by Finlay; message received from House that House adopted concurrent resolution concerning contingent expenses of this Legislature and had appointed like committee on the part of the House; committee report 3/31/1873 lists Word as Chairman (Senate Journal, 13th R.S., pp. 325-326, 360, 394-396).
