• Appoint and designate some outstanding and recognized poet who is a citizen of Texas, who shall be Poet Laureate of the State of Texas for a period of two (2) years from such appointment and designation.

Appointed by Lieutenant Governor 2/10/1947 and Speaker 1/30/1947, pursuant to SCR 8.
