- Investigate the financial structure of life insurance companies authorized to do business in this State in an effort to formulate proposed legislation concerning the investments of life insurance companies, minimum reserve, capital, and surplus requirements of life insurance companies, safeguarding against life insurance company insolvencies, and any other legislation deemed necessary for the protection of policyholders of life insurance companies licensed in Texas.
