To monitor all activities and to have budget oversight responsibilities for those agencies, boards and commissions as listed in Rule 3, Section 25.

To study the governance, rulemaking and enforcement procedures of the University Interscholastic League.

To study health insurance for public school employees.

To study academic classes taught by athletic coaches, both certified and non-certified.

To study the appraisal process for classroom teachers and administrators.

To study educational and financial implications on public education of open enrollment.

To study the impact of pre-kindergarten programs in Texas as to their developmental appropriateness (as defined by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs, 1987) including the system of contracted pre-kindergarten programs.

To study and monitor the implementation of legislation regarding school finance and its impact.

To study the relationship of vocational funding and compensatory funding as it relates to the CVAE programs for 7th and 8th grades.
