  • To monitor all activities and to have budget oversight responsibilities for those agencies, boards and commissions as listed in Rule 3, Section 25.
  • To study the governance, rulemaking and enforcement procedures of the University Interscholastic League.
  • To study health insurance for public school employees.
  • To study academic classes taught by athletic coaches, both certified and non-certified.
  • To study the appraisal process for classroom teachers and administrators.
  • To study educational and financial implications on public education of open enrollment.
  • To study the impact of pre-kindergarten programs in Texas as to their developmental appropriateness (as defined by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs, 1987) including the system of contracted pre-kindergarten programs.
  • To study and monitor the implementation of legislation regarding school finance and its impact.
  • To study the relationship of vocational funding and compensatory funding as it relates to the CVAE programs for 7th and 8th grades.
