- Make a thorough and complete investigation of the circumstances surrounding the purported assault on Representative Gordon Burns, to ascertain the names of the persons perpetrating the same, and the manner and method by which the same was executed, and to determine whether or not said assault was made because of words spoken by a Member of the House on the floor in debate, and whether or not said assault was committed for the purpose of intimidating a Member of the House or for obstructing or influencing the proceedings of the House.
