Joint Committee to Investigate the General Land Office issued report 3/22/1893. Resolution by Curry, amended by Fields, on 3/22/1893 to appoint a House Committee to investigate the Joint Committee investigation and report failed. Pursuant to resolution by Curry on 3/24/1893 Speaker appointed committee. Communication from McGaughey printed at H.J. of Tex., 23rd Leg., R.S. 765 (1893). Additional committee charge issued 3/29/1893 by resolution by Smith. Smith listed on resolution as chair. Smith granted one week's leave on 3/30/1893. Majority report signed by Henderson as acting chair and by Gough, Beall, Rogan, and Wynn. Minority report issued by Peck. Majority report adopted 4/7/1893. Speaker then announced a committee of 10 on impeachment : Smith of Hill, Henderson of Milam, Gough, Beall, Wynn, Rogan, Gossett, Fagan, Calhoun, and Dashiell. This committee of 10, also called the board of managers, issued articles of impeachment 4/16/1893.
