46th Regular Session
SB 26 Caption: Relating to amending a certain Act relating to Christian Scientists ministering to the sick; providing that those so ministering or offering to minister to the sick or suffering shall refrain from maintaining offices, except for the purpose of exercising the principles, tenets, or teachings of the Church of which they are bona fide members.
SB 33 Caption: Relating to requiring all purchasers of trees and timber in the form of logs or pulp wood, to obtain a bill of sale therefor from the seller; providing penalties for violation of this Act.
SB 34 Caption: Relating to amending a certain Article of the Penal Code relating to increasing the penalty from a fine of not less than Ten ($10.00) Dollars not more than Five Hundred ($500.00) Dollars, to confinement in the penitentiary for not less than (1) nor more than five (5) years; making timber theft a felony.
SB 102 Caption: Relating to conserving, preserving, and protectiong lands, products of lands, including timber and crops, and providing penalties.
SB 156 Caption: Relating to providing that the Clerk of the Supreme Court shall receive certain fees for services not otherwise provided by law, allowing the Supreme Court to fix such fees.
SB 203 Caption: Relating to authorizing the State Highway Department, in conjunction with the Bureau of Public Roads, to expend, from and after the effective date of this Act, upon roads not a part of the system of State highways, funds appropriated by the Congress of the United States and allocated by the Secretary of Agriculture of the United States to the State Highway Department for expenditure on such roads.
SB 204 Caption: Relating to making it unlawful for any person to engage in fishing from any causeway, bridge or structure located on any highway being maintained by the State Highway Department; making the violation of this Act a misdemeanor and providing a penalty for violation.
SB 207 Caption: Relating to providing for the sale of State property purchased from funds appropriated to the State Highway Department.
SB 208 Caption: Relating to amending a certain Statute by adding thereto a proviso to the effect that the defense of innocent purchaser shall be available against such limitation claims.
SB 215 Caption: Relating to assenting to the provisions of the Act of Congress entitled "An Act to provide that the United States shall aid the States in wildlife restoration projects and for other purposes," approved September 2, 1937.
SB 415 Caption: Relating to amending a certain Statute providing that the State Highway Commission be authorized and empowered in its discretion to enter into contracts or agreements with the governing bodies of incorporated cities, towns, and villages relative to the location, relocation, construction, reconstruction, maintenance, control, supervision, and regulation of designated State highways within or through the corporate limits of such incorporated cities, towns, and villages, and fixing liabilities of the parties.
SB 489 Caption: Relating to making an appropriation for the Sabine-Neches Conservation District; designating who shall have authority to execute vouchers under the direction and with the consent of Directors of said District.

SB 54 Caption: Relating to making an appropriation for the payment of the increase in salaries of the several constitutional officers of the State of Texas as authorized by constitutional amendment voted November 3, 1936; providing for the purchase of furniture, equipment and repairing the executive offices.
SB 74 Caption: Relating to defining and regulating the practice of professional engineering in the State of Texas.
SB 95 Caption: Relating to the salaries of all State Officers and all State employees, except Judges of the District and all appellate courts, Judges of the Supreme Court Commission of Appeals, Judges of the Commission in aid of the Court of Criminal Appeals, Attorney General and those Constitutional State Officers whose salaries are specifically fixed by the Constitution.
SB 96 Caption: Relating to making appropriations for the support and maintenance of summer schools during the summer of the year 1937, at the several State institutions of higher learning in the State of Texas, authorizing the expenditure by said institutions of certain additional amounts from fees collected from summer school students.
SB 108 Caption: Relating to appropriating Five Million Dollars ($5,000,000.00) per year, or so much thereof as may be necessary for the next biennium beginning September 1, 1937, and ending August 31, 1939, for the purpose of promoting public school interest and equalizing the educational opportunities afforded by the State to all children of scholastic age within the State.
SB 138 Caption: Relating to making appropriations for the support and maintenance of the executive and administrative departments and agencies of the State Government for the two year period beginning September 1, 1937, and ending August 31, 1939, and for other purposes.
SB 139 Caption: Relating to making appropriations for the support, maintenance, operation, and improvement of the State institutions of higher learning for the two (2) fiscal years beginning September 1, 1937, and ending August 31, 1939, and for certain other educational agencies of the State.
SB 140 Caption: Relating to making appropriations for the support, maintenance and improvement of the Eleemosynary Institutions of the State of Texas for the two-year period beginning September 1, 1937, and ending August 31, 1939, and prescribing certain regulations and restrictions in respect to the expenditure of said appropriations.
SB 141 Caption: Relating to making certain emergency appropriations for the office of the Secretary of State.
SB 142 Caption: Relating to fixing the fees to be paid for registration under the Securities Registration Act.
SB 143 Caption: Relating to making appropriations to pay deficiency appropriations granted by the Governor during the fiscal year ending August 31, 1936.
SB 144 Caption: Relating to limiting recoveries on bonds made by foreign insurance companies to their face value.
SB 145 Caption: Relating to increasing the amount that may be allowed by county boards of trustees to the county superintendents of public instruction for expenditures for office and traveling expenses in certain counties.
SB 161 Caption: Relating to making certain emergency appropriations out of the General Revenue Fund of the State of Texas to supplement appropriations made by the Regular Session of the Forty-fourth Legislature for the maintenance and administration of the Judiciary and to pay expenses of attached witnesses and witness in felony cases.
SB 172 Caption: Relating to providing for the prevention and control of diseases; giving the State Health Officer and the State Board of Health authority to promulgate orders, rules and regulations for the protection of the public health and prescribing the duties and defining the powers of the State Health Officer and the State Board of Health.
SB 179 Caption: Relating to making appropriations to pay miscellaneous claims out of the General Fund.
SB 180 Caption: Relating to providing that the third conviction of a felony less than capital will not authorize life imprisonment unless the two former convictions were for offenses of the grade of felony at the time of the commission of the third offense.
SB 224 Caption: Relating to providing for the addition of securities and guaranteed by Titles III and IV of the National Housing Act enacted by the Congress of the United states and approved by the President, June 27, 1934, as lawful investments by State banks.
SB 305 Caption: Relating to appropriating the fund provided for the use and benefit of the Comptroller in the administration and enforcement of the provisions of this Act for the use and benefit of the Comptroller in the administration of said Act from and after May 30, 1937, for the remainder of the fiscal year ending August 31, 1937.
SB 310 Caption: Relating to fixing the salaries of the Judges of the Supreme Court, Judges of the Court of Criminal Appeals, Judges of the Supreme Court Commission of Appeals, Judges of the Commission in aid of the Court of Criminal Appeals and the State's Attorney before the Court of Criminal Appeals, Judges of the Courts of Civil Appeals, and Judges of the District Courts, including Criminal District Courts of the State; providing for the support and maintenance of the Judiciary of the State of Texas for the two years beginning September 1, 1937 and ending August 31, 1939.
SB 353 Caption: Relating to granting aid to the property in and inhabitants of Newton County, Texas, and to Newton County made necessary by reason of its location on the Sabine River and by reason of calamitous overflows, floods, and storms, which cause great destruction of property, and menacing of life.
SB 365 Caption: Relating to appropriating the sum of Fifty-eight Thousand Seven Hundred Eighty-five ($58,785.00) Dollars to the Texas State Employment Service for the purpose of maintaining public employment offices for the balance of the fiscal year ending August 31, 1937.
SB 366 Caption: Relating to makin appropriation of certain sums of money, or so much thereof as may be necessary, out of the General Revenue Fund to pay taxes due by the State to Maydelle Independent School District.
SB 367 Caption: Relating to school participation in equalization fund for salary aid.
SB 409 Caption: Relating to providing for the funding by the Commissioners' Court of Angelina County of any and all items of indebtedness outstanding on January 1, 1937, against the road and bridge fund of said county, including scrip and time warrants, by issuing coupon bonds of said county.
SB 415 Caption: Relating to lifting the monthly limit of $700,000 for old age pensions until Sept. 1, 1937, because of heavier demand and increased income.
SB 429 Caption: Relating to increasing the membership of the State Board of Embalming to six members, and providing for a rotating board, and fixing the terms of office at six years; providing a penalty for violations of this Act.
SB 435 Caption: Relating to making an appropriation of Ten Thousand ($10,000.00) Dollars to be used by the Attorney General for the purpose of paying costs and expenses in prosecuting the suit of the State of Texas for recovery of transfer, succession or inheritance tax against the Estate of Edward H. R. Green.
SB 473 Caption: Relating to authorizing, consenting to and granting permission to C.B. Fairchild to sue the State of Texas, and ratifying and confirming consent heretofore given.
SB 474 Caption: Relating to authorizing, consenting to and granting permission to J. W. Sessions to sue the State of Texas, and ratifying and confirming consent heretofore given.
SB 479 Caption: Relating to making an emergency appropriation out of the General Revenue Fund of the State to the Attorney General's Department, for the purpose of paying costs in civil cases, for the balance of the fiscal year ending August 31, 1937.
SB 482 Caption: Relating to making an appropriation of the sum of One Hundred Thousand ($100,000.00) Dollars or so much thereof as may be necessary, out of any funds in the State Treasury, not otherwise appropriated, to pay the contingent expenses, and to pay the mileage and per diem of members and the per diem of officers and employees of the Regular Session of the Forty-fifth Legislature, and to pay any unpaid accounts of the Third Called Session of the Forty-fourth Legislature.
45th 2nd Called Session
SB 29 Caption: Relating to validating, ratifying, approving, confirming, and declaring enforceable, all levies and assessments of ad valorem taxes heretofore made by incorporated cities and towns in the State of Texas because the same were made and adopted by resolution, motion, or other informal action, and because of the failure of the governing body of such city and town to appoint the proper and statutory Board of Equalization.
44th Regular Session
SB 7 Caption: Relating to making an appropriation of the sum of Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000.00) or so much thereof as may be necessary out of any funds in the State Treasury, not otherwise appropriated, to pay the contingent expenses, and to pay the mileage and per diem of members and the per diem of officers and employees of the Regular Session of the 44th Legislature.
SB 8 Caption: Relating to creating a Court of Claims of the State of Texas, fixing jurisdiction of said court, authorizing the appointment of judges thereof, fixing their terms of office and salaries, and providing the duties of said judges.
SB 9 Caption: Relating ot making more adequate provision for the giving of surety bonds, or in lieu thereof, the depositing of securities in connection with all contracts with the State of Texas, or any of its counties, school districts, or other subdivisions of the State, or any municipality therein, or any incorporated body politic of the State of Texas, referred to in this Act as the Owner, for the construction or repair of any public building or the prosecution and completion of any public work.
SB 10 Caption: Relating to defining and regulating practice of dentistry in the State of Texas; providing for the creation of the State Board of Dental Examiners and prescribing their powers and duties; defining certain unlawful acts and practices taking place in connection with the practice of dentistry, and prescribing penalties thereof.
SB 34 Caption: Relating to making appropriations for the support and maintenance of the executive and administrative department and agencies of the State government for the two fiscal years ending August 31, 1936, and August 31, 1937, respectively, and for other purposes.
SB 35 Caption: Relating to making appropriations to pay salaries of judges, and for the support and maintenance of the Judicial Department of the State government for the two-year period beginning September 1, 1935, and ending August 31, 1937.
SB 36 Caption: Relating to making appropriations for the support, maintenance, operation, and improvement of the state institutions of higher learning for the two (2) fiscal years beginning September 1, 1935, and ending August 31, 1937, and for certain other educational agencies of the State, prescribing certain restrictions concerning the expenditure of said appropriations.
SB 37 Caption: Relating to making appropriation for the support and maintenance of the eleemosynary institutions of the State for the two fiscal years, beginning September 1, 1935, and ending August 31, 1937.
SB 82 Caption: Relating to defining and regulating the practice of professional engineering in the State of Texas.
SB 83 Caption: Relating to making the civil judiciary system of the State more fully self-sustaining, by providing for the collection of certain additional fees for the filing of original petitions and answers in all civil suits filed in the District Courts.
SB 136 Caption: Relating to making certain emergency appropriations out of the General Fund of the State of Texas for the Attorney General's Department for the balance of the fiscal year ending August 31, 1935.
SB 137 Caption: Relating to making appropriations to pay miscellaneous claims, and authorizing payment of said miscellaneous claims on taking effect of this Act.
SB 138 Caption: Relating to the salaries of all State Officers and all State Employees, except Judges of the District and all Appellate Courts, Judges of the Supreme Court Commission of Appeals, Judges of the Commission in aid of the Court of Criminal Appeals, Attorney General and those Constitutional State Officers whose salaries are specifically fixed by the Constitution.
SB 142 Caption: Relating to the salaries of Judges of the Supreme Court, Court of Criminal Appeals, Judges of the Supreme Court Commission of Appeals, Judges of the Commission in aid of the Court of Criminal Appeals, Judges of the Commission in aid of the Court of Criminal Appeals, Judges of the Courts of Civil Appeals, and District Courts, including Criminal District Courts of this State.
SB 149 Caption: Relating to making appropriations to pay certain deficiency appropriations granted by the Governor during the fiscal years ending August 31, 1934, and August 31, 1935, respectively.
SB 170 Caption: Relating to making appropriations for the support and maintenance of summer schools during the summer of the year 1935, at the several State institutions of higher learning in the State of Texas, authorizing the expenditure by said institutions of certain additional amounts from fees collected from summer school students.
SB 179 Caption: Relating to making appropriations to pay all of the interest now due, or to become due on or before August 31, 1937, on bonds of the State of Texas held by certain permanent funds of the State of Texas, authorizing the payment of certain warrants issued pursuant to this Act and of all warrants issued pursuant to certain statute, at face value and out of their regular order, authorizing certain things to be done in connection with the refunding of bonds.
SB 180 Caption: Relating to appropriating the sum of $1,127.10 to pay the balance due by the State of Texas as its share of court costs in the case of the State of New Mexico vs. The State of Texas, Number 2, Original, October Term, 1930, Supreme Court of the United States, being a suit locating and marking upon the ground the boundary line between the State of Texas and the State of New Mexico.
SB 186 Caption: Relating to appropriating Seven Thousand Three Hundred Fifty Dollars ($7,350.00), or so much thereof as may be necessary, out of any funds in the State Treasury not otherwise appropriated to pay the salaries of the three District Judges of the Special District Courts for Smith County, Rusk County and Gregg County.
SB 250 Caption: Relating to providing that the term of office of the State Auditor and Efficiency Expert shall end on January 31st of each biennium.
SB 251 Caption: Relating to providing that the total recoveries permitted on certain bonds shall not exceed the face value of the bonds.
SB 257 Caption: Relating to making certain emergency appropriations out of the General Revenue of the State of Texas to supplement appropriations made by the Regular Session of the Forty-third Legislature for the maintenance and administration of judiciary to pay expenses of District Judges and District Attorneys.
SB 258 Caption: Relating to reserve depositories.
SB 259 Caption: Relating to making certain emergency appropriations out of the General Revenue of the State of Texas, to supplement appropriations made by the Regular Session of the Forty-third Legislature for the maintenance and administration of the Judiciary, and for traveling expenses of the Judges of the Courts of Civil Appeals when on exchange of benches, to pay deficiency certificates already issued against such appropriations.
SB 303 Caption: Relating to providing for the payment of the interest accruing on or before August 31, 1937, on all bonds issued in conformity with the provisions of Article 3, Section 51-a, of the Constitution of the State of Texas and laws enacted by the Legislature pursuant thereto, and providing for the payment of the principal of all such bonds maturing on or before August 31, 1937.
SB 361 Caption: Relating to creating "Sabine-Neches Conservation District," a conservation and reclamation district with the powers to conserve, control and utilize the waters of the Sabine and Neches Rivers and tributaries, including their storm and flood waters, except said district shall have no power of taxation nor right to create any debt payable out of taxation.
SB 365 Caption: Relating to authorizing certain cities and towns to extend lines of their water and sewer systems outside city limits.
SB 377 Caption: Relating to providing relief for Martinsville COmmon School District No. 16, of Nacogdoches County, Texas, in order to aid said district in rebuilding its properties and equipping its school which was destroyed by fire on or about the 1st day of October, 1934.
SB 399 Caption: Relating to placing burial insurance under supervision of the State Insurance Department.
SB 429 Caption: Relating to granting permission to Mrs. Dora Martin, individually and as next friend of Hazel Martin, Eunice Martin, Buster Martin and Jack Martin, minors, and Ottis Martin, surviving wife and children of A.J. Martin while on duty in the employ of the Highway Department of the State of Texas, which injuries resulted in the death of the said A.J. Martin.
SB 494 Caption: Relating to making emergency appropriations out of the General Revenue of the State Treasury of the State of Texas for certain State Eleemosynary Institutions for additional support and maintenance of said institutions for the fiscal year ending August 31, 1935.
SB 530 Caption: Relating to making an emergency appropriation of $5,000.00 out of the Special departmental maintenance tax for the Fire Insurance Division of the Board of Insurance Commissioners.
44th 1st Called Session
SB 2 Caption: Relating to making an appropriation of the sum of One Hundred Thousand ($100,000) Dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary out of any funds in the State Treasury, not otherwise appropriated, to pay the mileage and per diem of members and the per diem of officers and employees of the First Called Session of the Forty-fourth Legislature, also to cover unpaid expenses of Forty-fourth Legislature, Regular Session.
SB 24 Caption: Relating to making appropriations to certain State Eleemosynary Institutions for the fiscal year ending August 31, 1936, and August 31, 1937, for the purpose of supplementing salaries of certain officers and employees.
SB 28 Caption: Relating to making an appropriation for the purpose of reroofing and repairing the Governor's Mansion, and repairing, improving and refurnishing the Executive Reception Room in the State Capitol Building.
SB 32 Caption: Relating to making appropriations for the Bureau of Labor Statistics for the purpose of supervising employment agencies and the distribution of farm labor, including salaries and other necessary expenses, for each if the fiscal years ending August 31, 1936 and August 31, 1937.
SB 37 Caption: Relating to making an appropriation of Seventy-Five Thousand ($75,000) Dollars or so much thereof as may be necessary to be used by the State Reclamation Department for the making of topographic and hydrographic surveys, assembling necessary data, and defraying the expenses of publication of maps, reports, and data gathered and assembled by the aforesaid topographic and hydrographic surveys for the public use of certain areas and lands within the State where the reclaiming and drainage of said areas and lands is being delayed and prevented because of the lack of such maps, reports and data.
SB 38 Caption: Relating to making an appropriation of money to the Texas State Park Board for improvement and construction work in the state parks of Texas, providing the manner of distribution, providing the proper supervision.
44th 3rd Called Session
SB 1 Caption: Relating to making an appropriation of the sum of One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000.00) or so much thereof as may be necessary out of any funds in the State Treasury, not otherwise appropriated, to pay the contingent expenses, and to pay the mileage and per diem of members and the per diem of officers and employees of the Third Called Session of the Forty-fourth Legislature, and of the previous sessions of said Legislature.
SB 9 Caption: Relating to authorizing the issuance of interest-bearing warrants to pay old age assistance benefits, making an appropriation.
SB 10 Caption: Relating to providing for the diversion of Three Million Dollars ($3,000,000) of State funds that under existing laws would go to the General Revenue Fund of the State, to the "Texas Old Age Assistance Fund" for the use and benefit of the Texas Old Age Assistance Commission for the payment of old age assistance as is now provided by law.
SB 13 Caption: Relating to validating, ratifying, approving, confirming and declaring enforceable all levies and assessments of ad valorem taxes heretofore made by by incorporated cities and towns which are unenforceable because same were made and adopted by resolution, motion, or other informal action, and because of the failure of the governing body of such districts to appoint the proper and statutory Board of Equalization.

SB 151 Caption: Relating to making the civil judiciary system of the State more fully self-sustaining, by providing for the collection of certain additional fees for the filing of original petitions in all civil suits filed in the District courts and for the filing of original petitions in all civil suits filed in the District Courts, and for the filing of appeals in the Courts of Civil Appeals, petitions for writs of error and motions for leave to file original suits in the Supreme Court- except in cases of suits for the collection of taxes and suits by the State, counties, school districts, and road districts of the State, and except in cases of habeas corpus proceedings.
SB 154 Caption: Relating to authorizing and empowering the State Board of Education to purchase legally issued warrants and vouchers issued to teachers and other employees of the Common and Independent School Districts of Texas; providing procedure of purchase.
SB 220 Caption: Relating to compensation of county commissioners.
SB 263 Caption: Relating to authorizing the State Forester under the general supervision of the Board of Directors of the Agricultural and Mechanical College to cooperate and execute agreements with the Federal Forest Service, other Federal agencies and timberland owners, involving cooperative forest protection and development projects when such action is required by Federal Statute or policy.
SB 275 Caption: Relating to transferring the funds of the Sand, Shell and Gravel Fund, the Fish and Oyster fund and the Fish Propagation and Protection Fund to the Special Game Fund.
SB 302 Caption: Relating to notices to owners of real property having delinquent taxes due thereon.
SB 319 Caption: Relating to fixing the amount of penalty and interest on delinquent taxes due the State of Texas, or any political subdivision thereof, regulating time of payment thereof.
SB 330 Caption: Relating to providing for the calling of an election to be held in Austin, Texas, in the House of Representatives on the first Monday inDecember, 1933, after said date of election, to pass on an amendment to the Constitution of the United States for ratification by conventions in the several states.
SB 331 Caption: Relating to amending certain statute relating to Passenger service on Railroads by providing for a relaxation by the Railroad Commission of Texas, under prescribed conditions, of the requirement of one train each day, Sundays excepted.
SB 332 Caption: Relating to privileged matters in communication in suits for slander, and further providing and regulating when said privilege is lost.
SB 353 Caption: Relating to making more adequate provision for the giving of surety bonds in connection with all contracts with the State of Texas, or any of its counties, school districts, or other subdivisions of the State, or any municipality therein, or any incorporated body politic of the State of Texas, for the construction or repair of any public building or the prosecution and completion of any public work.
SB 382 Caption: Relating to borrowing of money by corporations.
SB 384 Caption: Relating to permitting the following persons, their heirs or assigns to sue the state of Texas, or join the State of Texas as a party defendant, int he following cases now pending in the district court of Polk County, Texas, styled J. W. Sessions vs. National Surety Company, et al, and C. B. Fairchild vs. National Surety Company, et al., providing said suit may be filed or the State of Texas may be joined party defendant in said cases, within two years from the effective date of this Act, and further providing that the State may be served by service upon the Attorney General of the State of Texas.
SB 397 Caption: Relating to salaries of official shorthand reporters.
SB 398 Caption: Relating to requiring the Association to notify the Industrial Accident Board when payment of compensation has been suspended, and providing a penalty for the intentional failure to give such notice.
SB 499 Caption: Relating to providing for open season on squirrel in Angelina and Tyler counties, providing a penalty.
SB 526 Caption: Relating to disposal of pledged securities of county depositories by the county.
SB 559 Caption: Relating to profit derived as a result of improvements made by the Federal Government on lands owned by the State.
43rd 1st Called Session
SB 33 Caption: Relating to appropriating the unexpended balance in the State Treasury on September 1, 1933 to the credit of a separate fund provided for by certain statute.
SB 38 Caption: Relating to creating "Lower Neches Valley Authority" conservation and reclamation district.
SB 40 Caption: Relating to authorizing the issuance of relief bonds to the extent of Five Million ($5,000,000) Dollars under Section 51-A, Article III, of the Constitution of the State of Texas, for the purpose of textending relief to bona fide residents of the State of Texas who desire to purchase small farm homes.
SB 54 Caption: Relating to providing for the construction and maintenance of State Highways under the control of the State Highway Department, regulating the making of highway contracts and providing for the security therefor.
SB 55 Caption: Relating to authorizing and empowering the State Highway Commission to pay out funds credited to the State Highway Fund premiums on surety bonds required by the Federal Government of the State Treasurer to secure funds advanced to the State of Texas under the National Industrial Recovery Act for expenditure by the State Highway Department in the construction and improvement of state highways.

SB 30 Caption: Relating to making an appropriation to pay per diem and expenses of persons serving on the textbook committee from October 1 to October 13, 1933, and making an appropriation to pay per diem and expenses of members of the State Board of Education incurred in connection with its meeting July 31 and August 1, 1933.
SB 32 Caption: Relating to amending certain statute relating to the official bond of the State Treasurer, and providing that the State Treasurer shall enter into such bond as may be required by an Act of COngress to protect any Federal funds which shall have been received or which may hereafter be received by the State of Texas and deposited with the State Treasurer.
