41st Regular Session
SB 14 Caption: Relating to requiring freedom of conscience in all political parties nominating candidates for office in this state and declaring to be against public policy and unlawful and void and of no effect any party pledge or test or agreement; limiting the power of a state executive committee of a political party.
SB 15 Caption: Relating to amending Article 207 of the Penal Code of the State of Texas, which provides that a county chairman or member of a county executive committee failing or refusing to have the name of a candidate, lawfully certified to him, printed on the official primary election ballot, shall be confined in the penitentiary.
SB 16 Caption: Relating to amending certain articles of the Penal Code of Texas providing that any official who willfully fails or refuses to discharge any duty imposed on him under the law shall be fined.
SB 17 Caption: Relating to making an appropriation for the state available school fund.

SB 10 Caption: Relating to making an emergency appropriation of three hundred thousand dollars to provide for the immediate construction of two dormitories at the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas.
SB 11 Caption: Relating to providing for the classification of elementary and high schools by the county board of school trustees; providing for free tuition for certain high school students.
SB 12 Caption: Relating to regulating the manner in which the property of Fire Insurance Companies and Casualty Companies organized under the provisions of the laws of this State shall be assessed for taxes.

SB 81 Caption: Relating to the practice of barbering; providing who shall practice barbering and who shall serve as an apprentice, and requiring the certificate as a registered barber and a certificate of registration as an apprentice, and providing for qualifications a barber and apprentice barber shall possess in order to receive a certificate and to practice barbering.
SB 114 Caption: Relating to libel, better providing what may be given in evidence by the defendant, if specifically pleased, in determining the extent of actual damages and in mitigation of exemplary or punitive damages.
SB 144 Caption: Relating to repealing that portion of Article 4011 of the Revised Civil Statutes requiring that if any corporation, company, association or person mentioned shall grant to any minister of religion, a free pass over its lines of railroads, it shall issue like free transportation to each and every minister of religion who may make application therefor.
SB 145 Caption: Relating to establishing and maintaining an agricultural experiment station in the northern part of the blacklands region of Texas, authorizing the Board of Directors of the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas to select a suitable location for said station; making an appropriation.
SB 156 Caption: Relating to authorizing the recording of Marketing agreements of co-operative marketing associations and the fixing of a lien; providing for the manner of filing and recording marketing agreements executed by co-operative marketing association and their respective members, and affidavits on connection herewith, with the County Clerk of the various counties in the State of Texas.
SB 177 Caption: Relating to providing the manner in which and the time within which real property sold in any if the methods provided by law for the payment of taxes due the State, county, city or and political subdivision of the State may be redeemed from any such sale.
SB 189 Caption: Relating to amending certain laws; providing that the Tax collector, or his deputy, whenever any tax is paid, shall give to the person paying the same, receipt therefor, specifying the amount of State, County and/or district taxes.
SB 213 Caption: Relating to nominations and primary elections by political parties which cast one hundred thousand votes or more, at the last general election, and providing for a better method of making such nominations and choosing candidates of such political parties.
SB 220 Caption: Relating to amending Chapter 2 of Title 39, Acts of 1925, by providing for bailiffs and additional stenographic help for the Courts of Civil Appeals and fixing the compensation for such services to be paid from fees collected by the Clerk.
SB 221 Caption: Relating to providing that stock of any insurance company organized under the laws of this State shall be divided into shares of not less than ten dollars each and not more than one hundred dollars each; and providing that the affairs of any insurance company shall be managed by not fewer than seven directors, all of whom shall be the stockholders in the company.
SB 229 Caption: Relating to releasing the inhabitants of, and property subject to taxation for levee improvements in City and County of Dallas Levee Improvement District and Dallas County Levee Improvement District Number 5, for a period of twenty-five years from the payment of ad-valorem taxes levied for State purposes.
SB 275 Caption: Relating to providing for the segregation or separation of the white and negro races and providing for the conferring of power and authority upon cities to pass suitable ordinance controlling the same and providing for fixing the penalty.
SB 276 Caption: Relating to authorizing cities which now have, or may hereafter have 5,000 or more inhabitants, in case of condemnation of land for laying out, establishing or enlarging parks, parkways or pleasure grounds to provide that the cost of such land should be paid for.
SB 296 Caption: Relating to requiring school authorities to provide sufficient and adequate protection against fire or panic in school buildings.
SB 297 Caption: Relating to abolishing the defense of contributory negligence in all negligence cases, except cases governed by Title 130 of the Revised Civil Statutes known as the Workman's Compensation Law, or Article 6440 of the Revised Civil Statutes.
SB 306 Caption: Relating to regulating, controlling, and limiting the effect to be given all laws and rules of court procedure applying to the trial or appeal of any cause pending in any court of Texas, civil or criminal.
SB 318 Caption: Relating to fixing the compensation of the reporter of the Court of Criminal Appeals, of Texas.
SB 319 Caption: Relating to providing that any person may be named as beneficiary in any policy issued by a legal reserve life insurance company on the life of another to whom he or she is related by affinity within the third degree or by consanguinity within the fourth degree.
SB 351 Caption: Relating to regulating the liability of sureties on obligations and undertaking in case of discharge or release of any principal thereon, less than all, or in event of such obligation or undertaking.
SB 352 Caption: Relating to amending Article 3810 of the Revised Civil Statutes of 1925 and changing the method of giving notice of sales provided for in said article.
SB 375 Caption: Relating to the duties of the County Board of Trustees of the public schools of this State, in all counties having 210,000 population or more, according to the last preceding federal census, authorizing them to condemn land for school purposes.
SB 394 Caption: Relating to increasing and fixing the salary of the Superintendent of Public Instruction in all counties having 210,000 population or more according to the last preceding Federal census.
SB 395 Caption: Relating to creating the District Court of Dallas County, to be known as the Juvenile District Court of Dallas County, defining the jurisdiction thereof, fixing the salary of the Judge of said court.
SB 403 Caption: Relating to providing that where any citation or notice mentioned in Subdivisions 1 to 7 inclusive of Article 2092 of the Revised Civil Statutes of 1925, except citations by publication, is served before the return of day thereof, the defendant shall appear and answer at or before ten o'clock a.m. on the Monday next after the expiration of twenty days from the appearance day named in said citation.
SB 419 Caption: Relating to providing that freight charges on carloads of coal delivered at any point within the State of Texas, where railroad track weighing scales are owned, or used or maintained at the point of delivery, or in the line of transit shall be based upon actual weight of said coal; providing a penalty.
SB 424 Caption: Relating to providing for the vocational rehabilitation and placement of physically disabled persons; to make an appropriation of Ten Thousand Dollars to make the law effective.
SB 479 Caption: Relating to amending the local road law of Dallas County so as to better provide for construction, reconstruction and repair of dirt roads connecting with the pikes or hard surfaced roads in said county, and so as to make more ample provision for the resolving and preventing of impediments on the public highways of Dallas County such as junk, or debris, tin cans, glass or other similar impediments.
SJR 1 Caption: Proposing an amendment by inserting a section authorizing the terms of office of members of boards of education and all other municipal boards and commissions in cities and towns of whatever population, and of all school trustees to extend for any period of time not to exceed six years.
SJR 19 Caption: Proposing an amendment eliminating the constitutional limitations on the Legislature relative to notaries public and the appointment of notaries public, and providing for the appointment of notaries public until the Legislature enacts a law on this subject.
SJR 29 Caption: Proposing an amendment relating to the labor of persons under eighteen years of age.
SJR 30 Caption: Proposing an amendment providing that hereafter members of the Legislature shall receive the same compensation or per diem after the first sixty days of a session as they receive for the first sixty days thereof.
SJR 34 Caption: Proposing an amendment authorizing the Legislature to provide by the donation of ad valorem taxes under certain restrictions, or otherwise, for the reclaiming of land from waters and floods, or the protection of lives and property from waters and floods in any territory within this State.
40th 1st Called Session
SB 12 Caption: Relating to amending the local road law of Dallas County so as to better provide for the construction, reconstruction and repair of dirt roads connecting with the pikes or hard surfaced roads in said county, and so as to make more ample provisions for the removing and preventing of impediments on the public highways of Dallas County such as junk, or debris, tin cans, glass or other similar impediments.
SB 15 Caption: Relating to making an appropriation for the survey of the Davis Mountains State Park Highway in the Davis Mountains of Texas, to be a part of the system of State Highways and providing that State convicts may be utilized in the construction of said Highway.
SB 64 Caption: Relating to creating and establish for each of incorporated cities of this State having a population of one hundred thousand or more located in counties having a population of two hundred and ten thousand or more inhabitants, a court with jurisdiction co-extensive with the territorial limits of such city concurrent with the county courts, county courts at law and the Justice Courts of this State over all misdemeanors committed within the territorial limits of such city.
SB 67 Caption: Relating to providing that liens for street improvement created by written contract of the owner or owners of land, or by interest therein, shall be superior liens upon such improvements and providing for the enforcement thereof.
SB 68 Caption: Relating to authorizing incorporated cities, towns, and villages incorporated under either general or special law, including those operating under a special charter or amendments of charter adopted pursuant to the Home Rule provisions of the Constitution to cause to be improved certain roadways, or any portion or portions thereof, and to assess part of the cost thereof against abutting property and owners thereof.
SB 86 Caption: Relating to amending Article 2249 of the Revised Civil Statutes of Texas as amended February 21, 1927, so as to make clear the scope and purpose of the amendment.
SB 93 Caption: Relating to requiring the teaching of American ideals and intelligent patriotism in the public schools of Texas with special reference to obedience to law and to law enforcement, authorizing the State Textbook Commission to adopt a suitable textbook for giving instruction; requiring the purchase by local school boards of suitable United States flags.
SB 94 Caption: Relating to providing a better means of knowing whether all prior taxes have been paid on property described in a tax receipt issued by the county tax collector.
SB 103 Caption: Relating to promoting the public welfare and protecting the public health by enacting provisions of law designed to prevent the dumping of any trash, refuse, debris or dead animals or to permit the same to remain within or nearer than 300 yards of any public highway of the State of Texas; prescribing penalties for violations of this act.
SB 108 Caption: Relating to fixing the compensation of grand jury bailiffs and to make the pay of bailiffs of the Criminal District Court and Criminal District Court Number Two of Dallas County equal to that of other bailiffs.
SB 123 Caption: Relating to Pleas of Privilege to be sued in the county of one's residence.

HB 247 Caption: Relating to providing for the forfeiture of liquor dealers' bonds in certain cases.
HB 346 Caption: Relating to incorporating Seagoville School District in Dallas and Kaufman Counties an independent school district; and to provide for the election of trustees, raising revenue by taxation, issuing bonds and maintaining public free schools therein.
HB 363 Caption: Relating to defining the limits of the Fourteenth and Forty-fourth Judicial Districts.
HB 638 Caption: Relating to creating a lien in favor of the owner, proprietor, lessee, manager or receiver of any private or public warehouse, whether individual, firm or corporation, for charges for storage, drayage and all other charges due such warehouse, and for the enforcement of said lien.

HB 339 Caption: Relating to requiring all persons in this State, who are authorized to celebrate the rites of matrimony, to return the marriage license to the county clerk's office from which it was issued.

HB 116 Caption: Relating to requiring all persons or corporations owning or operating street railways in any of the cities of this State of not less than 40,000 inhabitants to transport children under the age of twelve years, and all students not more than seventeen years of age attending any public or private academic school, at and for one-half the fare regularly charged for the transportation of adult persons; and providing penalties for violations of this Act.
HB 140 Caption: Relating to amending a certain Act, relating to the powers of the qualified survivor; and authorizing recovery thereunder.
HB 157 Caption: Relating to providing for the appointment of official stenographers for district courts by the judges thereof, in all districts composed of only one county, or a portion of one county, and all other district courts sitting in the same counties therewith.
HB 162 Caption: Relating to providing for the incorporation of mutual fire insurance companies, and defining their powers and duties, and requiring all such companies now doing business in this State to comply with the regulations prescribed by this Act.
HB 173 Caption: Relating to providing for the organization of trust companies.
HB 271 Caption: Relating to authorizing receivers, assignors, trustees, guardians, committees, executors, administrators or curators, or any person holding positions of judicial trust, to include, as part of the lawful expense of executing their trust, the cost of their bonds when procured from surety companies.
HB 305 Caption: Relating to providing for the deposit of the public moneys of the State in State depositories, and for the selection and designation of such depositories.
