  • Appointed brigadier general by President David G. Burnet in August 1836. Secretary of the Texas Navy, December 1838 to May 1839. Inspector general of the army and adjutant general in the Somervell expedition in 1842. Served briefly in the Mexican War. Handbook of Texas Online.
