Confederate States Army, Corp. Capt. C.B. Sutton's Co. (served as escort for Maj. Gen. Magruder latter part of the war), enlisted 2/18/1863; not found on rolls of Company G, 32nd Regiment, Texas Cavalry from November 1861-April 1864, according to War Department memo. T.H. Hayes, "72 years old will be 73 Nov. 17th 1917," born in Carroll County, Tennessee, residence in Groesbeck, Limestone County, death date 4/10/1928 on application for mortuary warrant. Pension File No. 34489, Alabama, Texas and Virginia, U.S., Confederate Pensions, 1884-1958. Ancestry.com.
Confederate States Army, Bennett's company of McCulloch's escort, enlisted February 1862, participated in battle of Elk Horn; transferred to Colonel Andrews' regiment of infantry; then Captain C.B.
