Born 8/14/1880 in Kosciusko, Mississippi; established residence in Wolfe City, Texas, after marriage to Miss Rose Porter Pennington of Whitewright on 11/7/1908. "In 1909 he was elected to the Legislature from Hunt County and served two years. Afterwards, they moved to Farmersville, where Mr. Westbrook was owner and editor of the Farmersville Times. Four years later they moved back to Wolfe City and Mr. Westbrook began practicing law. Reentering politics, he was elected to the State Senate, a position he was to hold intermittently for 14 years from the tenth and ninth district. In 1922 he moved to Sherman.
