  • Captain of a company in 4th Tennessee Cavalry, later promoted to rank of major. W.S. Bledsoe, served in the state legislature in 1870-1871 during the Davis administration. Father of William H. Bledsoe, Volume III, p. 1321. A History of Texas and Texans, 1914.
