HB 255 Caption: Relating to providing for the length of contract between all school boards of education and teachers; providing for dismissal by boards of education of teachers under contract; providing that the general law shall apply to termination of contracts; providing that the provisions shall apply to any teacher or administrator who holds a minimum of a bachelor's degree and a position requiring a certificate.
HB 344 Caption: Relating to amending certain statutes raising the maximum age of dependent children from fourteen (14) to sixteen (16) years; prohibiting the payment of Aid to Dependent Children to the mother on behalf of a child born outside marriage.
HB 364 Caption: Relating to changing the name of the East Texas State Teachers college, at Commerce, in Hunt County, to the "East Texas State College"; providing a changed meaning of the name, "East Texas State Teachers College", or any reference thereto, wherever such name or reference appears in the Revised Statutes of Texas, 1925, or any amendments thereto, or in any Acts of the Legislature, passed since the adoption of a governing board to be appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate.
HB 620 Caption: Relating to amending the Veteran's Land Fund Act; providing for the issuance of an additional Seventy Five Million Dollars ($75,000,000.00) in bonds to mature not sooner than June 1, 1960.
HB 695 Caption: Relating to amending certain statutes so as to provide for the payment of actual traveling expenses of county commissioners in counties of 26,600 to 26,675 while traveling inside or outside of the county on official business, provided that the traveling expenses of any county commissioner shall never exceed Eight Hundred ($800.00) Dollars in any one year.
HB 799 Caption: Relating to changing the name of East Texas State Teachers College to East Texas State College.
HJR 2 Caption: Proposing an amendment authorizing the issuance of Seventy Five Million Dollars of Bonds in addition to Bonds already issued by the Veterans' Land Board to provide money for the Veterans' Land Fund.
HJR 3 Caption: Proposing an Amendment relating to compensation or Members of the Legislature.
51st Regular Session
HB 54 Caption: Relating to providing that the Commissioners Courts of all counties employing Juvenile Officers or Probation Officers, and their assistants, shall fix their salaries and regulate their expenses; repealing all laws and parts of laws in conflict herewith to the extent of such conflict.
HB 537 Caption: Relating to prohibiting the operation of motor vehicles in which are located or installed television receiver sets or equipment which may be seen by the driver while said motor vehicle is being operated; fixing a penalty.
HB 758 Caption: Relating to granting aid to Cass County, Texas, made necessary by reason of the calamitous overflows and floods of Sulphur River and the many branches and creeks which empty into Caddo Lake and said River, which cause great destruction of property and loss of life; remitting, releasing, granting and donating to the property in and the inhabitants of said County all State Ad Valorem taxes for general purposes levied on property in said County, including rolling stock of railroads for the next two (2) years, beginning with the next fiscal year, September 1st, 1949, and ending August 31st, 1951.
HB 827 Caption: Relating to defining terms relating to holding company systems and to the production and value of oil; providing for penalties and interest; providing a saving clause; repealing all laws in conflict with this Act.
HB 970 Caption: Relating to amending a previous Act, providing for and fixing compensation for County Auditors in certain counties.
HB 989 Caption: Relating to amending a previous Act, to change the time for holding special election for members of the State Board of Education from thirty (30) days after the effective date of Senate Bill No. 115, Acts of the 51st Legislature, to September 24, 1949, to be held in conjunction with the election for voting on proposed Constitutional Amendments; repealing all laws in conflict.

HB 30 Caption: Relating to providing for the organization of cooperative, non-profit, membership corporations for the purpose of furnishing telephone service; declaring the terms and provisions of this Act to be severable; providing that this Act shall be complete in itself.
