Submitting as additional topics for consideration by the 57th Legislature, 1st Called Session, the subject of Election Code amendments to provide for majority votes for special elections for the State Legislature and U.S. House of Representatives, an increase in the present $28 maximum payment under the Texas Unemployment Compensation Law, the recommendations of the Texas Law Enforcement Study Commission, revision of the driver licensing law, a medically-accepted chemical test law for use in cases of driving while intoxicated, more adequate salaries for district and county attorneys, improvments in and additions to Sunday closing laws relating to retail stores, authority for game wardens to enforce laws against trespassing, safety standards for mobile homes, child support in divorce cases where physically or mentally handicapped children are involved, municipal annexation, rehabilitation districts, amendments to the Good Neighbor Scholarship Law, amendments to the Anatomical and Tissue Law, Harris County municipal retirement program, trademark legislation, county road laws, non-profit corporations for charitable and public service purposes, creation of a commission to study reorganization of the state government and its fiscal system, use and control of causeways for public fishing piers when abandoned by the State Highway Dept., local or uncontested bills relating to retirement systems, court reporters, game laws...
