Calling a special session of the 18th Legislature to convene on the second Tuesday in January, 1884, for the following purposes: tax to maintain a system of free schools; free school law; reducing taxation for general revenue purposes; protect the interests of the State and equitable rule in the resale of lands purchased by the State at tax sales; remedy for wanton destruction of fences; more efficient system of highways and penalty for enclosing school lands; mode by which the agents of the State at the Capital can take care of and protect the property of the State; judicial districts of the State; investment of common school funds in any other securities than those named in the Constitution; state's representation at exposition to be held in New Orleans in 1885; appropriations to meet deficiencies in appropriations heretofore made for Texas veterans, and contingent expenses, per diem pay and mileage of 18h Legislature; county bonds for the purpose of funding their indebtedness, created for other purposes than for the erection of court houses and Board of Education transfer of State and Federal bonds to the University fund; lands surveyed and set apart for the benefit of the Common School, University, Lunatic, Blind, Deaf and Dumb, and Orphan Asylum funds; attachment law
